Allison Williment
Day 2 – 23rd September
Allison has worked for World Horse Welfare since 2005, initially as a Field Officer before taking her current more field research-based role. This work has given Allison great insight into the less visible areas of the horse industry and the information gathered has led to the Charity being at the forefront of understanding how horse movements and lack of traceability and enforcement can enable what is currently known as horse smuggling. Her focus is always on horse welfare and how these under the radar movements impact the horse. This knowledge base has helped World Horse Welfare be a voice for the horse during the EIA outbreaks of 2010, the horsemeat scandal of 2013 and currently horse smuggling which has entailed many long hours at various GB ports.
