African Swine Fever in 2021: Do We Need to Worry?

Leonardo graduated with a Degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Extremadura, Spain, in 1998. He then decided to specialise in pigs and took a Masters of Science in Pig Production in the University of Aberdeen, which he was awarded in 1999. Leonardo had a 10-month stint working for the MHS in 2000 in Manchester, finally joining MAFF during the classical swine fever outbreak in 2000. Since then, he has held various different roles in MAFF/Defra in different locations. Leonardo has always had a great interest in exotic diseases and he is part of the APHA network of expertise for exotic diseases. His current role is Veterinary Adviser for Field Delivery, based in York.
