Juan Herreros works at APHA as a Veterinary Advisor in the Field Epidemiology team. Since joining APHA in 2013 as a Senior Veterinary Inspector, Juan has been involved in multiple areas of animal health and welfare official controls, with a particular focus on epidemiology of bovine tuberculosis, which has recently included the use of Whole Genome Sequence for case and cluster investigations.

Since graduating from Leon University (Spain) in 1996, Juan has worked as a Government Veterinarian, first in the Food Safety Agency, later in Spain as a Veterinary Advisor in the Rapid Alert Network of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Animal Health Department of Castilla La Mancha, coordinating the implementation of official control programmes for Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies and endemic diseases.
