Certification and planning for farm animal exports: issues highlighted by audits
09:45 - Farm Animal

Anne graduated as a veterinary surgeon from Liverpool University in 1988. She worked in a variety of mixed practices before joining the State Veterinary Service (as it was then) in 2003. A few years were spent; first in Leicester, then in Carlisle Divisional offices, doing field work, before the Centre for International Trade was started in Carlisle in 2008. Anne worked as the sole vet in the Centre from the start, covering exports, and as the Centre and work force have expanded, she has continued to concentrate on export work, along with Artificial Breeding Controls.

At home, Anne has a 50-acre small holding, breeding White Galloway cattle and Shropshire sheep, both of which are sold to various EU countries and Northern Ireland from time to time. She therefore has experience of exporting from both sides!

Anne’s main interests, other than this, are in dog training. She runs dog obedience and agility training classes and currently competes with 3 dogs in agility.
