Dr Aidan Dryden is a Veterinary Advisor in the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) One Health team.

Aidan graduated with a Honours Microbiology degree in 1988. Following this, he worked in research at St George’s Hospital, London, and then in the prion disease group at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.

Returning to university in 1991, Aidan graduated with a veterinary degree in 1996 and then worked in private mixed practice until interrupted by the foot and mouth disease outbreak in 2001. He at first joined the SVS as a temporary Veterinary Inspector, moving to a full time Veterinary Officer role in late 2001.

Since 2010, Aidan has been the lead veterinary officer working on TSEs and the veterinary medicines and residues programme.
